In order to receive the benefits of our insurance cover, it is very important to follow the correct procedures when lodging a claim.

Our insurance brokers are Addsure Insurance Brokers. The contact person is Rian Pienaar at 082 925 8339. However, all claims are to be submitted to Stenersen & Tulleken. Only two claim forms are used, one for geyser related claims and the other for all other types of claims.

When you need to make a claim:
1) Claims must be lodged within 30 days of incident.
2) Damage must be inspected by a Trustee before repairs are carried out.
3) Depending on the extent of the damage it may be necessary for the Broker or an Assessor to also inspect the damage beforehand.
Replacing the Geyser:
Replacements via the underwriter’s 24 hour call centre – Tel: 0861 225 225, are as follows:
(i) Non-compliant geysers (without drip trays) = No limit applies for the replacement but subject to an excess of R 2 000. No resultant damage cover.
(ii) Compliant geysers (with drip trays) = No limit applies for the replacement but subject to an excess of R 2 000. Resultant damage cover applies with an excess of R 1 250.
Replacement by an own plumber/contractor:
(iii) All geyser replacements limited to a contribution of R 4 000 per claim – no excess applies.
(iv) Non-compliant geyser (without drip trays) = No resultant damage cover.
(v) Compliant geysers (with drip trays) = Resultant damage cover applies subject to an excess of R 1 250.
In the event of a geyser claim, Geyser Drip Trays must be fitted in terms of SANS 10254 to entitle owner to claim for damage resulting from a burst geyser.
Geyser Component Replacement:
Limit: R1,000 pa.
This covers replacement or repair of geyser valves, thermostats, elements and vacuum breakers up to a maximum of R1000 per annum.
